I got that too. Personally, I hate class action lawsuits because the only people that come out ahead with those are the lawyers.

Got it also. Twelve bucks per aligns with the news article about it.
Key date in October to opt out if you want to decline the to twelve bucks and optionally file suit yourself.
@Shelenn Ayres - or just opt out because $12 max is ridiculous and insulting. And note, that $12 isn't guaranteed- its based on how many people file.
@David Thiery - exactly. Well, unless you consider the schadenfreude of getting Google to pay out for their mistakes.
Lawyers definitely come out shining but that is their business model. The person or persons who file the suit initially also get a hefty sum.
It's ironical, really. Does the French saying "if you want to kill your dog, accuse it of having rabies" translate to English? The exhibited privacy vulnerabilities were presented of having had no concrete consequence, except for the consequence of justifying the shutdown of Google+. This class action is like a ridiculous toy model of the class action of breast cancer victims I hoped for at the time Myriad Genetics claimed extensive ownership of oncogenes. "If you own them, you are responsible for what they do".
