Why the F would anyone want to be a teacher with this pay and these parents?

Paying students to serve lunches. Bringing retired teachers back to the classroom. Hiring bus drivers for janitorial duties. Across the country, these are some of the short-term solutions to a nationwide shortage of school staff. to.pbs.org/3oOGp7e

Two of my friends are teachers. One teaches kindergarten so of course the kids are unvaxxed and impossible to keep masked. She got sick almost as soon as they went back to classroom teaching. The only reason they keep their jobs I think is both that they enjoy it, and they like having summers off for big trips. It's definitely not for the pay, or the support of their managers.
