But, saith Doom!, thou canst blow it into chunky kibble. Zombies, sure. Spectre vulnerabilities? Not so much.

The Register reports that security researchers at Google have concluded that Spectre-type attacks can never be completely prevented by software mitigations alone.

This doesn't come as a surprise. I would have thought it should have been evident from the very start, from the nature of the class of vulnerabilities.
