Facebook removes 'inauthentic' George Floyd groups

If Facebook can do this it can remove child abuse images, deal better with grooming and almost certainly remove messages from Donald Trump suggesting looters should be shot.

NiceBlr reshared this.

facebook is becoming more fascist, like its sociopathic creator.

people need to stop supporting his regime.

One reason I don't use it, I have kept the BBC article that reports that Facebook, whatsapp and instagram are used for a large amount of child grooming / sex offenses.

Next time I have a conversation around safeguarding with a FB user I am tempted to ask them what they think about this, and by using facebook you are saying that it is OK to groom / abuse children.

In a similar way we don't use the results of NAZI human experiments because they would make what they did OK, by using facebook you're saying that it is also OK for FB to be a safe place for sex offenders. Implying.

By boycotting facebook you are sending a very strong message you reject any platform that allows this or more to the point makes money from it.

So tempted just to see what peoples reactions are.

Facebook just uses free speech as an excuse for content

What I find is that people say all their friends use it, so most have their heads buried in the sand.

that should be interesting, let us know how it goes.

Yeah, do you see my references to NAZI experiments and if we used the results we would be legitimizing these experiments as OK, I am not sure how to express things in an effective way sometimes, need to use better wording.

Sorry to break it to you, Paul: Eduard Pernkopf: The Nazi book of anatomy still used by surgeons https://www.bbc.com/news/health-49294861

Perhaps future generations will see things differently. I know there was debate about this, maybe that is where I got my thinking from regarding using information.

@Ted Ewen just to say thank for for pointing this out, one of the things I like about the fediverse is we can discuss things like this, make statements, discuss and change viewpoints accordingly, most other places (e.g mainstream social media) we would have been silenced by now.
