The ONLY sure way to secure your private information online is to KEEP IT OFFLINE.
Seems partially right, but also seems to mix up location services and location sharing.
@Troy Schultz while what you write is true that is not the point the article is making. The article is not about sites having your location data or obtaining it somehow, it's about third parties (in this case particularly burglars, stalkers and the like) gathering information people share publicly for their activities.

Hence my point above that locations services and location sharing are two different things.
The way I see it, if you're posting it for the world to see, don't be so shocked when the world (burglars, stalkers, ex's, currents, etc.) stumble upon it...don't cry foul when your wife leaves you because you posted about your affair and she found it...
