Friendica 2021.04 Released

Does that mean the old API endpoints don't work anymore and the new APIs have other return values?
I don't know which API endpoints had been touched. But most should still work.
@Marco R. I think so yes, see the referenced github comment, directly above the commits are listed that "moved" some of the endpoints.
Absolutely. Additionally these API endpoints are specifically used by the Friendica frontend and aren’t documented to be used by third-party clients.
Well done, thanks.

This is Friendica, version 2021.04 that is running at the web location https://social.yl.ms. The database version is 1413/1413, the post update version is 1400/1400.

Please make sure Please make sure to use Barracuda as MySQL DB file format for your Friendica database. Change your database settings before you proceed with the Friendica update. There seems to be no way to know the format under mariadb (10.3.27), nor any way to do anything about it.

[UPDATE] Apart from that the upgrade went flawlessly.

You can perform the command bin/console dbstructure toinnodb to convert the tables to "Barracuda" if they are still in an older format.
@Michael Vogel should one check before or just run the command and see what happens?

Also a year ago there was some discussion here: https://forum.friendi.ca/display/3516d96d-13b224a97607a7a8-843f562d
@grin
I had the same question.
The answer of the sql-command “show global variables“ in phpMyAdmin was a list of settings that also contained the database-file-system. In my case named "Barracuda".
Whoohoo! ? Release. 😀

PS: For reasons unknown I had to tweet the splendid news manually again.
Are we directly going into the RC phase with 2021.06? Seems like the development time is slightly short this time ?
@Michael Vogel Haha. That's exactly what I was thinking. 😁
I'm good with that! ?
@Michael Vogel Well there is a week or so to add new stuff for the next RC phase 😉
Umm. I cannot 'like' anything. I mean, I switched from latest RC to stable. This should be the same code. But...

Uncaught ReferenceError: doLikeAction is not defined
    onclick https://libranet.de/display/39bbe52a9050dc894dcfd6b85d7178cf1a3f7cad:1

Firefox 88. Cleared the cache. Didn't help. ?
@Steffen K9 ? my like shows up here for me, how about on your end?
@utzer It's not about showing likes. It's about me being able to click on 'like'. The weird thing is the problem only occurs on libranet.de - not on other nodes (all on stable now). Must be some local issue.
@Steffen K9 ? OK, from my reply you also know I can click on it. 😛
@utzer Sorry.I'm unable to like that. 😉
@Tobias Depends on which likes. I liked a lot 😉 - then I switched to stable - now I have the problem.
@Tobias For example I tried to like your comment "I see your likes...". No luck. Doesn't work. #luftfeuchtigkeit

Hans Wolters reshared this.

@Tobias Ok. Switched to 'vier' theme. Liking works.
@Tobias Switched back to 'frio'. Cannot like anything. 😕
The native 'Reshare' button also doesn't work. Same error message. I have no clue.
Oh! Something is wrong with the buttons. On mobile i see: like, comment, share, quote share. But it should be: like, comment, share (which opens the selector for share and quote share).
When I check on venera.social, the buttons are right.
Ok. Issue solved. I deleted all files in ...view//smarty3/compiled/. Now the buttons are correct and I can like again.
Thanks for the update. Did run very smooth from the previous version.
@Hans Wolters Yes. I use strict privacy settings in FF. But I tried to switch to default and it doesn't work either. Also, on two other nodes (same browser, same server, same settings) it works flawlessly.
Thank you all for the release! iSurf Social has switched over to it.
@Friendica News Is develop now stabilizing? Is it safe to upgrade? my instance currently runs relatively smooth (I cannot upload new pictures for a strange reason).
@Roland Häder I don't think that the PRs to development so far have destabilized the version compared to the stable release.
@Tobias Done the upgrade. So far no issues. 😀
