I'm not holding my breath. They're not even voting on a bill passed by the House, they're just voting on Trump's poison pill and funding for 2 weeks.

According to the article, they'll be voting on one of the Democratic bills passed by the House also. Neither is expected to pass 60 votes, but we'll see what happens.

If the one giving Trump wall funds passes the Senate it won't pass the House so even voting on that is not fruitful. If the other passes it denies Trump since it is supported by the House. Either way, getting votes on the record is important.

There is another aspect people may not be considering. The only thing that could have convinced McConnell to allow a vote on a bill that has no funding for the wall is support for 50 new judicial nominees coming from Trump. Be very wary as that can be far more damaging!
