Fortnite-maker settles lawsuit against cheat-seller

Back in the 80's when we had zx spectrums and such like cheats and pokes were everywhere, and yes you could alter the game to get infinate live and other stuff and the game creators were fine with it.

In fact to find those cheats people probably had to trawl through the code that made up the game and find the right address lines, what to change that line data to, and publish this for others.

I can understand cheating being not good with multiplayer games but in some cases like with doom you could get god mode, and explore further and learn how to play the game better. Then when playing normally you were more successful.

You could do some cool stuff too, e.g on a spectrum if you did poke 23609,255 the keyboard would beep when a key is pressed.

Alien: Isolation for macOS and Linux is 60% off on the Feral Store: https://store.feralinteractive.com/xx/games/alienisolationcollection/

Hone your flamethrower skills now and steel yourself for Alien’s arrival on Nintendo Switch later this year.

Just spotted this on twitter and am sharing here as Linux users have a special offer. If you do buy the game after seeing the offer on here.

Great way to get people in to programming too, turns people from consumers of games to future developers of games.

I wonder if we can get more games into schools using this idea :)
